Sign in at www.delighta.com and create a group of telephone numbers by clicking on the "Create SMS Group" button. You can add up to 50 telephone numbers to your group. If the telephone numbers are outside the US or Canada, specify the country code without using the '+' sign. Send a SMS starting with the keyword $grp followed by the group name to 1-408-357-4815 and it will be forwarded to everyone in your group. You can create as many groups as you want.
 
Example 1: Alice created a group of friends who go bowling every Saturday. She called her group "bowlers" and added 6 telephone numbers to it. When she wanted to schedule her next outing, she sent the following SMS to 1-408-357-4815:
$grp bowlers meet at main st lanes on saturday at 7pm
The SMS was sent to everyone in Alice's "bowlers" group.
 
Example 2: Ryan lives in the UK. He wanted to invite 4 of his closest friends to his house to watch a game of soccer. After signing in at www.delighta.com, he created a group called "buddies" and added the phone numbers of his friends. Each phone number was prefixed with "44", which is the country code for UK.
Then he sent the following SMS to 1-408-357-4815:
$grp buddies meet at my house at 630pm to watch the game
The SMS was sent to everyone in Ryan's "buddies" group.

Setup Your Google Calendar As Follows In Order To Get Automatic Reminders Via SMS
1. Visit http://www.google.com/calendar and sign in if prompted by Google.
2. Find your calendar under "My calendars"
3. Click at the right end of your calendar and select "Notifications" from the drop down menu.
4. Click on "Set up your mobile phone to receive notifications"
5. Enter your mobile phone number and click on the "Send Verification Code" button.
6. Google will send you a 6 digit verification code via a text message. Get it from your mobile phone and enter it in the "Verification code:" box.
7. Click on "Finish setup" button.
That's it! You are now ready to receive automatic reminders from Google for every appointment added by Delighta to your calendar.

Simply send a SMS message to 1-408-357-4815. In the message, use the $ sign to indicate spreadsheet column name and use the next word to indicate the value of that column. You can have as many column names as you want in your message. The following examples illustrate how easy it is:
 
Example 1: You want to track your eating out expenses. You spent $6.95 on lunch, $16 on dinner and $3 on coffee today. Add this information to your spreadsheet by sending the following SMS:
$lunch 6.95 $dinner 16 $coffee 3
 
This will create columns titled "lunch", "dinner" and "coffee" in your spreadsheet and populate them with appropriate values.
Example 2: You are the owner of a fleet of taxis. You want to track the mileage and gasoline expenses for all your vehicles. Ask your taxi drivers to send the following SMS every time they fill up their tanks (in this example, we assume the odometer reading is 65535 and the driver spent $65.50 on gasoline):
$odometer 65535 $gas 65.50
 
This will create columns titled "odometer" and "gas" in your spreadsheet and populate them with appropriate values.

  1. Create a spreadsheet (see below for format) containing telephone numbers, scheduled SMS delivery time and messages that should be sent with the SMS.
  2. Sign in at http://www.delighta.com with your Gmail user id and password.
  3. If you want every scheduled SMS message to begin and end with a particular sentence, type it in the boxes provided for that purpose.
  4. Click on the "Upload Your Spreadsheet" button to upload the spreadsheet to Google. You can see the spreadsheet any time by signing in at http://drive.google.com.
  5. Delighta will send SMS messages to each telephone number in the first column at the date and time specified in the second column. The SMS will include a description of the event taken from the third column.
  6. If and when the recipient replies to the SMS, their reply will be added to the fifth column.
The format of the spreadsheet should be as follows:
Column 1: 10 digit phone number that will receive the scheduled SMS (if you live outside US or Canada, include the country code)
Column 2: Time stamp when the SMS is scheduled to be sent. The time stamp should be in the following format: MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM AM or PM (Example: 09/30/2012 05:30 PM
Column 3: A textual description of the event for which SMS will be sent (Example: Meet John at 7 pm today)
Column 4: This is reserved for Delighta use. Delighta will add a time stamp to this column when the SMS is sent
Column 5: This is reserved for Delighta use. When the user responds to the SMS, their reply will be added to this column

This is an easy way to automate sending of appointment reminders to a large number of telephone numbers.
 
Example: A business XYZ, Inc wanted to automatically send appointment reminders via SMS to their clients. They created a spreadsheet called "appt" and populated the first three columns with telephone numbers, date and time when the appointment reminder is to be sent and a description of the appointment respectively. Then they signed in at http://www.delighta.com and uploaded the spreadsheet by clicking on the "Upload Your Spreadsheet" button.
Delighta software will scan the spreadsheet and send SMS messages to the telephone numbers in first column on the date and time specified in the second column. The SMS will include a description of the appointment picked up from the third column.
